Makers of Security at WIZnet Germany GmbH

We have learned over the years: IT is a short-lived business, even more so IT security. We recognised the trend soon enough to extend our horizon accordingly. Today, our service portfolio covers the complete range of modern requirements. Our workforce with international roots gives us the skills and the ability to deliver our services not only on a regional but also on an international level. Through our continuous work with major corporations, primarily large financial institutions who are traditionally very sensitive to all aspects of security, our research and development has become as natural and practical as the ever-emerging threats and vulnerabilities we are so determined to understand, contain and avoid altogether. Simultaneously, our cooperation with the key players in the pharmaceutical and other industries has taught us the importance of efficiency through goal-oriented technical project management. We are able to develop worldwide novel solutions in the sense of consistent security architectures such as IoT. In addition to secure hardware in the smallest format, our solutions are used for the implementation of cloud-centric processes with the principle of "Security by Design" in mind. Those workflows rely on strong components such as PKI, two-way TLS and the efficient implementation of cryptographic schemes and algorithms.

Network Roots

WIZnet Co., Ltd. in South Korea is a chip manufacturer driven by the idea of implementing the TCP/IP stack entirely in pure hardware. At the university of Busan, this idea was brought to paper and matured at WIZnet to real ASICs. These hardwired TCP/IP solutions, which are also called Internet offload Processor, are gladly leveraged in security solutions, as at least the TCP/IP stack is rock-solid and cannot be easily thwarted by the usual vulnerabilities such as buffer overflows. Due to the nature of hardware-based processing, a Denial-of-Service (DoS) attack on the network layer is thus more likely to clog the network infrastructure itself rather than the immediate data ingress of the chip. WIZnet Korea has subsidaries around the world and is providing not only open source products, but is also dedicated to open hardware.

About WIZnet Germany GmbH

WIZnet Germany GmbH has its roots in designing and trading in Internet offload Processors. With the rock-solid TCP/IP stack as the ultimate core, reliant application and services have been calling for equivalent or comparable hardening on each and every architectural layer from day one. This is not only limited to microcontrollers per se, but also eaisly extends and applies to scalable distributed infrastructure units such as full-blown server farms. Our research and development in the field has therefore become as natural and practical as the ever-emerging threats and vulnerabilities we are so determined to understand, contain and avoid altogether. Simultaneously, our cooperation with the key players in the pharmaceutical and other industries has taught us the importance of efficiency through goal-oriented technical project management. Thus, other critical markets such as large financial institutions who are traditionally very sensitive to all aspects of security have joined the ranks of our loyal customers over the years.
